The distinguished administration of Saint Dominic Elementary School supports its faculty in every possible way, from their efforts to build strong relationships with students to helping guide academic and spiritual education.
Sister Mary Helen has been Principal of Saint Dominic Elementary School since 1988. In 2007, her service to the school and the Saint Dominic community was formally recognized when she was chosen by Bishop Murphy to receive the St. Agnes Medal of Service. She has been a member of the congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for 48 years.
In 2002, Msgr. John A. Alesandro joined St. Dominic Church as pastor. He as also served as a Catholic canon lawyer and administrator in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. He also briefly served as acting Bishop.
An indispensable resource and the person you are most likely to come into contact with in the Main Office, Mrs. Smith serves as the primary contact for children, parents, teachers and principal on a range of topics, from school mail, lunches, books, transportation and other general information. She joined Saint Dominic Elementary School’s staff in 1984. Previously, she held administrative positions in the airline and motion picture industries.
